Pursuing a passion to provide people with high quality affordable housing options, together with a vision for creating their own small business, in January, 1998, David and Theresa Bennett formed Bennett & Bennett, Inc., a real estate development and investment-banking firm (B&B). Using the real estate development and finance expertise they accumulated at the Pedcor Companies, Boston Capital Partners, and Armstrong & Company, and working with a sophisticated national investor, B&B’s first endeavor secured debt and equity financing for three affordable housing developments containing more than 400 affordable apartment homes in Las Vegas, Nevada. The financing closed within 90 days of B&B receiving the assignment.

Subsequently, B&B placed $75,000,000 of debt to refinance seven nursing home facilities scattered throughout the Midwest and a continuing care retirement facility in Virginia, and secured a $6,500,000 letter of credit from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis to enhance a tax exempt bond issue with the proceeds funding the acquisition of three assisted living facilities in Indiana.

In July, 1998, Mr. Duane Reindl joined David & Theresa to form Bennett, Bennett & Reindl, Inc., (subsequently replaced by Bennett & Reindl, LLC “B&R”). Together, they have developed and financed a variety of commercial and multifamily properties in Indiana and South Carolina.

Fully equipped to provide financing, development, and construction management services, in July, 2000, B&B was engaged by an Indianapolis developer to assist in structuring and closing a tax-exempt bond financed apartment development in Indianapolis.  The developer had received a $6,150,000 allocation of tax-exempt bond volume from the state of Indiana but was struggling to close the transaction.  Working with the developer and the financing team, B&B was able to restructure the development to meet the needs of all parties involved and close the transaction within 75 days.

In April 2002, Theresa formed TB & He Management Company, Inc. (TB&HE) to provide high quality property management and administrative services predominantly for B&R’s portfolio of properties.
